Lighting

Lighting is the first step to a safer, cleaner and more secure neighborhood for residents, businesses and visitors.

FQMD has fully deployed the $1.75 million City-allocated Street Lights funding to assess 947 streetlights throughout the French Quarter and complete necessary repairs, replacements, and installations.
 
Due to the scale of infrastructure needs, not all repair requests were able to be addressed within the allocated funding. With project funds now fully expended, ongoing streetlight maintenance responsibility returns to the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works. Repair requests should continue to be submitted through the 311 system. 
 
Additional improvements will require future funding consideration.
