French Quarter Management District to co-host public forum on proposed Economic Development District

On Saturday, October 24, registered voters within the boundaries of the French Quarter Management District will have the opportunity to elect to create an Economic Development District.

To better inform voters on this decision, the French Quarter Management District and the City of New Orleans are co-hosting a public forum. We encourage all voters within the District to attend.

Should voters approve this measure, sales tax on goods and services (excluding hotel stays) sold in the District will increase 0.2495%, which equates to $0.25 for every $100. This sales tax is expected to generate approximately $2 million annually and would fund public safety measures within the District.
